Stir Fry Chilly Chicken

A favourite when you want something snazzy, delicious and in a short time span. Stir fries are healthy, since vegetables are an important ingredient and oil takes a backseat. Here is a chilli chicken stir fry recipe – one of the many variations to the originally Chinese recipe!

For the marinade:

200 grams chicken breasts, cut into strips

2 tbsp soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1 green chilly, sliced diagonally

For the sauce:

4 cloves of garlic, chopped

1 teaspoon of ginger juliennes

1/2 onion, cut into square pieces

1/2 green bell pepper

1 teaspoon chilli vinegar

1 teaspoon stir fry sauce

1 teaspoon oyster sauce

Method:

Marinate the chicken strips in soy sauce, chopped garlic, green chillies, and ground black pepper. Keep aside for twenty minutes.

Heat two teaspoons oil in a wok. Add chopped garlic and ginger. Now add the chicken and saute for about five minutes. Now add the onions, and green bell peppers. Saute on high flame, swirling the wok time and again to avoid burning.

Add the chilli vinegar, stir fry sauce, and oyster sauce. Season with black pepper, salt and sugar.

Cover and leave on low flame for two – three minutes.

Serve as starters or as an accompaniment to fried rice or steamed rice.
